A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, dead animals, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on).

Imaginative Composition is the most popular area that adults want to learn. At Ennis Art School all aspects of Seascapes, Landscapes and Urbanscapes are instructed in, how to create an interesting design and then how to execute it to a high level of competency. Painting is taught from the basics up to the most advanced levels, so there is a criteria to suit all levels. Oil, Acrylic and Watercolours are the main mediums which can be used either by themselves or mixed.

Landscape painting – Learn every aspect from how to create a composition to vanishing points, horizons, how to paint trees, grass, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, houses and people in the landscapes.

Seascapes, and all aspects on how to paint the sea and environment is a very popular subject. All aspects are delivered, from the initial basic construction of a seascape up to layering, translucency, flight and movement.

Portrait Painting – How to break down the face, how to measure from they eye, symmetrical dimensions, skin colour tone, how to draw the eye’s nose and mouth, backgounds, perspective, etc.
